The Sun'n'Chill App has a smart timer indicating how long you can sunbathe and not get a sunburn. This is especially important if you want to tan safely - maximize how fast you tan without burning in the sun.
You can adjust your skin type, whether you wear sunscreen or not (and its strength) and whether you are next to a reflective surface such as water for more precise timer estimates.
Your sunbathing sessions are tracked within the app - so past sessions during a day are taken into account when calculating the time you can spend in the sun.
We take a list of factors into account when providing you with the time you should spend in the sun.
We fetch the UV Index from a global weather database which indicates the UV Index (how strong the sun is) at your current location in the current moment.
Our app contains the Fitzpatrick scale questionnaire to help you determining your skin type. Your skin type is as well taken into account in the calculation since every person reacts differently to sunlight.
If during the day you have already spent time in the sun - those past sessions are as well considered when giving you the amount of time which you can still spend in the sun.
You can see the UV Index for the day which can help you to plan your sunbathing sessions. The optimal tanning range is UV index 4-6. Above UV index 8 you should avoid unprotected sun exposure.
We provide the Fitzpatrick skin type questionnaire in the app to help you determine your skin type.
